Thank you for your interest! A common question that we are asked, is why would I choose a private-pay/out-of-network psychiatrist and not use my health insurance benefits?
This can be a complicated question to answer but here are some common reasons why an out-of-network psychiatrist may be a good fit.
Privacy. We do not bill insurance and thus your medical records are not shared with a health insurance company. Health insurance companies require us to submit diagnostic codes every visit and they have say in the amount and type of care you receive.
Flexibility. Reyna Psychiatry PLLC is considered a micro-practice. We do not have high numbers of patients in our clinic. This allows us to be more flexible regarding appointment scheduling, including having more availability and direct access to Dr. Reyna.
Not having to wait. Many insurance based Psychiatry practices are very full so appointments may be more limited. At Reyna Psychiatry PLLC, we strive to see new patients within 1-2 weeks after an appointment request.
More time with the Doctor. We focus on providing high-quality, evidence-based patient care. Our appointments are longer as we are not constrained by insurance limitations. Each patient’s unique situation and needs need to be heard. Our longer appointments allow us to build strong relationships with patients and their families.
Expert psychiatric care for children. Dr. Reyna is a physician and has completed not only a General Psychiatry Residency but obtained additional psychiatric training via a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
